Last Friday afternoon, the Year 2 students from Room 26 and the Pre-primary students from Room 14 worked together on a very special job. Our school creek had become messy, and many of the rocks had been moved out of place. The water couldn’t flow properly anymore, so we decided it was time to help fix it.
We all gathered by the creek, rolled up our sleeves, and got straight to work. The students looked carefully at where each rock needed to go. Some rocks were big and heavy, so a few children teamed up to lift them safely. Others picked up the smaller rocks and gently placed them back in their spots. Everyone showed amazing teamwork, patience, and care while making sure the creek looked beautiful again.
Once all the rocks were in place, it was time to test our hard work. We slowly poured water into the top of the creek and watched closely. At first, it trickled… then it picked up speed… and finally, the water flowed smoothly all the way down! The students cheered, feeling proud that their effort had made a real difference.
We are hoping that everyone in our school community will help take care of our creek. The rocks need to stay in their correct places so the water can keep flowing and the creek can stay healthy. With everyone’s help, our creek will continue to be a special place for exploring, learning, and enjoying nature.
