In our class Music sessions, children do a lot of singing and movement and enjoy learning songs for our school assemblies.
Children experiment with a variety of instruments from our well-resourced Music Room and visiting tutors offer private guitar, piano and drum lessons.
The Department of Education “Instrumental Music School Services” program selects children with special musical aptitude in Year 5 and 6 to learn a brass or woodwind instrument, or Classical Guitar. This extends to the local government Senior High School program Geographe Bay Music, where students perform in a band with students from other local, Public primary schools.
The school’s Choir regularly performs at community events and attend an annual Choir Camp. Choir highlights have included performances in 2000 for the Queen of England, and in 2015 for the 150-year celebration of Busselton Jetty we sang Mrs Bigwood’s ‘Jetty Song’ which is now played on the train journey out to the Observatory.
