Indonesian

Indonesian is studied at Vasse Primary by students in Year 3-6. The subject focuses on developing both students’ proficiency in Indonesian and their intercultural understanding. Students learn greetings, how to introduce themselves and talk about their interests along with useful phrases for everyday conversation. The aim is for students to be able to communicate effectively in Indonesian and to learn about what life is like living in Indonesia.

To learn about Indonesian culture, Vasse Primary has connected with schools and organisations including Millennium Kids Inc. (WA), WeSave Dompu (Sumbawa,Indonesia) and our BRIDGE partner school, Sekolah Fastabiqul Khairat (Samarinda, East Kalimantan). Their teachers have visited Vasse Primary School to share Indonesian Culture with our classes. Students share and receive letters, video messages and even participate in live video meetings with classes from our partner school.
