What an absolutely fabulous day out for our Year 6s! Spirits were high, the kids were buzzing, and everyone was thrilled that the weather was on our side, allowing the event to go ahead in perfect conditions.
Our students competed against schools from across the South West in a lively and action‑packed Round Robin Tournament. This year we offered Netball, AFL, Soccer and, for the first time, Tri Tag. A huge shout‑out to Jason Marrable from Rugby WA for stepping in and coordinating Tri Tag; The Cape PE Teachers are already keen to keep it in the program for years to come. It’s a fresh, exciting sport that caters for all abilities and is incredibly inclusive.
Our AFL Vasse team embraced the competitiveness of the day and played every game with heart and spirit. We entered two soccer teams who battled through six rounds, showing off some impressive skills, and our goalies were unstoppable. A big thank you to Rob, our Chaplain, for coaching one of the teams. We also proudly entered three Netball teams and three Tri Tag teams.
Teachers and parent volunteers were full of praise for our students, who displayed outstanding sportsmanship and represented Vasse Primary with pride, positivity and respect.
