At Vasse Primary School we follow a set of important behaviour expectations; Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be your Best! As a school, we decided to create recyclable art pieces for the Dunsborough Arts Festival; Sculpture by the Bay, using expired RAT tests and titled it “A.R.T.” which is an acronym for All Rat Tests. We turned the test kits into bees, Beehives, flowers, and ‘Be affirmations’ to promote sustainability in the community and to coincide with our School’s Behaviour expectations.
A reminder to all to ‘always be the best we can bee!’
It has been an absolute pleasure working with our Year 1 – Year 6 students these last couple of weeks on the Sculpture by the Bay Art pieces. Thank you to all students, school staff, and volunteers, for all your support and contribution to the production and organisation of this artwork, for which I am very proud and grateful to have been a part.
A big thank you to Amy Sefton and her family for helping with the installation setup and Karen Bigwood and her partner for volunteering to supervise the artwork at the festival. Thank you!
