On Thursday, 20 March, the excitement was palpable as Vasse Primary School hosted the Eagles Rock My School event, featuring none other than Mark Nicoski from the West Coast Eagles! This action-packed day was tailored especially for our Pre-Primary to Year 2 students, bringing with it an explosion of energy, inspiration, and, of course, plenty of fun!

Mark Nicoski kicked off the day with an engaging presentation that encouraged our students to stay active and join programs like Auskick and Year 2 Super Kick. But the real star of the show was Rick the Eagle! With his larger-than-life personality, Rick captured the hearts of all the students. He shared a powerful story about overcoming self-doubt and the importance of trying new things — like taking the leap to join Auskick! The crowd was buzzing as Rick handed out fun prizes, lifting spirits and keeping the energy high.

As the day progressed, the excitement continued with a special treat for Miss Gardiner’s and Mrs. Smith’s classes. These students had an exclusive opportunity to join Mark Nicoski and Matt Chave from the WA Football Commission for an Auskick skills session on the school oval. The session was packed with thrilling games, plenty of laughter, and a whole lot of high-fives! The students got a chance to practice teamwork, ball skills, and enjoy the spirit of football.
Of course, the highlight of the day was Rick the Eagle himself—his infectious enthusiasm had everyone cheering and smiling from ear to ear. A huge thank you to Mark, Rick, and the West Coast Eagles team for inspiring our students to stay healthy, active, and engaged in sports.

In addition, Room 19 and Room 21 had their exclusive training session with Mark, where they practiced teamwork and ball skills on the oval. They were also lucky enough to meet Rick “The Rock” Eagle and hear Mark speak about the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices, working hard to achieve your best, and of course, supporting the West Coast Eagles!

It was truly a day to remember—one filled with excitement, inspiration, and valuable life lessons for all our students. We can’t wait for more fun-filled events like this in the future!
