This year we have had some amazing works of art created and I would like to acknowledge ALL of our students’ hard work and effort and commend the students whose artworks made it into the Busselton show.
These artworks included some year one students‘ ‘How the Birds Got Their Colours’ paintings exploring the primary and secondary colours, ‘Rocket Ship’ crayon resist paintings, paper collage cats exploring geometric shapes and clay bees on flower sculptures; some year two‘s chalk pastel ‘Big Head’ self-portraits exploring realistic colour and texture and some flower bee clay sculptures; year three’s contour self-portraits exploring line and clay personality inspired minions, year four’s abstract self-portraits inspired by Pablo Picasso and personality and Matisse inspired clay minions; year five’s abstract line drawings exploring movement and some ‘Monster vs Alien’ clay sculptures inspired by Henri Matisse, some beautiful Anzac Day poppy watercolour paintings; Matisse inspired paper collages and some amazing abstract oil pastel tree drawings exploring colour by some of our year six students. Plus, we also added some of our ‘Sculpture By the Bay’ installation pieces to the display.
It was a privilege, and I feel super proud and grateful to have the opportunity to curate the display at the 2024 Busselton Show. Your feedback regarding the Vasse Primary School Art display would be greatly appreciated. Please email [email protected]
