Did you know that Nina Kennedy, the 2024 Paris Olympics Gold Medal winner of the Pole Vault event attended Kindergarten to Year 2 at Vasse Primary School, in the early 2000’s.
Our Year 4 students were over the moon watching the replay of Nina winning gold the following day at school. This is what they had to say…
“Nina Kennedy, I am so proud of you, your gold medal, AND that you went to my school. You are the best in the world!” Hudson
“I liked how Nina jumped on a stick, and went so high! The fact that I could see her in Busselton is amazing!” Izaac
“When we watched Nina Kennedy I felt inspired because she went to my school and learnt at my school, and now she is at the Olympics. I am very proud of her because she would have practiced so long and her dream came true!” Pippa
“The Olympics inspires me because I know that anyone can achieve greatness. People like Nina Kennedy and Jack Robinson inspire me more because they are both from W.A.” Connor
Mrs Bigwood, our music specialist teacher remembers Nina as ‘a little sweetheart.’
