Well, yet another beautiful day in the southwest, and the Vasse Fathering Group (VFG) was out again to walk from Bunker Bay to Meelup.
On Sunday 19 May, approximately 25 Dads and kids started the morning with delicious breakfast wraps for everyone, cooked on the BBQs at Meelup Beach, followed by a bus ride to Bunker Bay for those willing and able to complete the longer beach walk.
With the offering of a shorter leg added this year, we had several younger kids come along with their Dads to enjoy the fantastic trails we have, here in the southwest. They were dropped off at Eagle Bay to start the walk back to Meelup Beach.
Perfect conditions for walking today. The sun was warm with clouds in the sky. It was slightly windy, keeping us cool and the sea choppy. We finished off with a few sausages and buns back at Meelup.
The kids had the opportunity to practice their first-aid skills along the way. We had a couple of willing patients who were happy to be treated for various ‘pretend’ ailments that may occur on a walk like this.
Sunday 18 August is the next planned event with our VFG Dads & Kids Adventure Bike Ride so save the date for some MTB fun in Margaret River. Suitable for all riding experience levels.
