GBM Music Workshop 2023
13 September, 2023 @ 11:45 am - 3:05 pm
Unfortunately, the Geographe Bay Music workshop coincides with Vasse Primary’s Inquiry Expo Day. The Expo Day requires all students to share their Inquiry projects as part of the ‘Communicate’ phase of learning and some of them are also part of other performances at recess. We would, however, love to support our musical students so we have negotiated a later starting time for our group to be able to attend the workshops. Vasse Primary students will be starting their workshops at 11:45 am.
11:30 am – Parents to sign out and collect their child (or carpool) and depart Vasse Primary.
11:45 am – Arrive at Busselton Senior High School and continue with the rest of the day and join the other students for lunch.
The workshop looks like a fantastic day and we look forward to hearing about it.
As part of the school’s instrumental program, we will be holding a combined workshop for all our primary school instrumental music students on Wednesday, 13th September. The aim of the workshop is to introduce our younger students to the band program and foster peer-group support and musical standards through rehearsal and performance. This is the first opportunity for our year five students to be involved in a large group performance.
The instrumental teachers attached to the GBM program, will run the workshop with upper school students assisting with small group activities. Students often learn a great deal from their peers. A short concert of the pieces rehearsed will close the day’s activities.
The workshop and performance will be held at Busselton Senior High School in the Performing Arts Centre. Students from Primary Schools will need to make their own way to and from the workshop. Students are required to wear school uniforms and bring their instrument’s and any band practice copies.
