On Monday 17th Of October, the amazing year 3s went on an excursion to Abbey Beach, Dolphin Boat Ramp Beach, Broadwater Resort and Busselton Jetty Foreshore playground for ‘Beach Clean Up Day’.
The classes were organised into two groups, one group started walking from the Abbey Boat Ramp and the other group started their journey from the Dolphin Road Boat Access. Both groups walked approximately 3km to the Broadwater Resort playground, keeping their heads down and eyes peeled for rubbish!
All of the rubbish collected along the beaches was sorted into categories and the findings recorded.
We were very proud of ourselves for collecting loads of rubbish but also extremely disappointed to discover how much litter people leave on our precious beaches.
Finally, we travelled to the Busselton Jetty Foreshore playground where we enjoyed a relaxing lunch, listened to Mrs Amy Gornall, Operations Manager of Busselton Jetty Inc, talk about the importance of keeping our beaches clean and then we had a wonderful play on the pirate ship.
A message from everyone in Year 3,
‘Please remember to ‘Take 3 for the Sea!’
